Common questions about transfers
How long does a domain transfer take?
For most TLDs (.com, .net, .org, .info) the transfer completes within 5–7 days once you approve the email confirmation. Some country-code domains (.in, .uk) can take up to 10 days.
Do I lose any time on my domain?
No - when you transfer, the registry adds 1 year to your existing expiry date. You don't lose any time you've already paid for.
What is an EPP / Auth code?
It's a 6–32 character authorisation code from your current registrar that proves you own the domain. You'll need it to start the transfer.
Will my website go offline during the transfer?
No - your DNS records continue to resolve from your current host until you point them to a new provider. Transfers don't affect website uptime.
Is there a transfer fee?
A small fee (₹999 for .com / similar) is charged by the registry, and it includes a 1-year extension to your domain.
